Description
Part of the New Republic's new effort against pirates in the Outer Rim, the Ranger Gunship is equipped with both powerful turbolaser cannons and hi-track quad laser cannons, the Ranger can take on most any small to mid-sized ship and win. This heavy armament stands the ship in an excellent position as a multi role support craft, either as starfighter defence, convoy escort or Capital ship support.

Comments:
Terribly Mauled: This ship required again a little bit of the familiar and the not-so familiar about it. Since the craft is no longer built by Corellia Fleet Systems in the game's storyline, I have given it a slightly different look from the Corvette or the Gunship from the original game. Also, unlike the worn look that the Corvette, and even the Republic Cruiser had in The Phantom Menace, I've given this ship a smooth look. This is an attempt to show that it is a craft of high technology, and also that perhaps twenty years after the Galactic Civil war ship builders are becoming more involved with design style as well as function, much like the Naboo were in The Phantom Menace.
So while it looks different, it retains the basic ship areas and shapes of the Correlian Corvette and Gunship: engines at the rear, roughly diamond shaped mid hull and bridge at the front.
