BRIEFINGS FOR "AFTERMATH OF THE CLONE WARS"

For some reason, the briefings that go with each of the 8 missions do
not show. Therefore, I have included these briefings in this text file.
I suggest you print them out, then read each briefing prior to playing
each mission.
Sorry for this inconvenience.

BRIEFING FOR 1-1: PROTECT ARMS CONVOY

Welcome to Alpha Squadron. You have just graduated from the new Imperial
Academy and you have been qualified for combat duty in the Twin Ion
Engines Starfighter. You will be under the command of Captain Toshur of
VSD Enforcer.

The galaxy is in utter chaos after the Clone Wars. His Imperial Majesty
is doing what he can to restore peace and order to the galaxy, but he
cannot do that without our help.

Your first assignment is to protect an arms convoy bound for Corellia.
These weapons are necessary to reinforce the Imperial garrison there
and prevent bloody revolts.
The convoy consists of five Freighters and is protected by two
Assassin-class Corvettes, both carrying a flight of TIE-Fighters. You
will be designated as Alpha 2.

If any threat arrives, you and your wingmen will be scrambled
immediately. Your priority is to ensure no Freighters are lost.

BRIEFING FOR 1-2: ESCORT MOFF TARKIN

Moff Tarkin's Shuttle is due from Coruscant any minute. VSD Enforcer is
ordered to pick up the Shuttle and carry the Moff to his office on
Alderaan.

We are wary of trouble, as the loss of Moff Tarkin can seriously hamper
our activity in this sector. His safety is therefore of great
importance, and a TIE-Fighter escort has been assembled for his Shuttle.

You and your wingmen will maintain a standard patrol around the
Enforcer until Tarkin's Shuttle arrives. At that point, you will
rendezvous with his Shuttle and escort him to the Enforcer's hangar.

If any hostiles arrive, you will intercept and destroy them immediately.
We cannot afford any hesitation in this area - Moff Tarkin MUST reach
our command ship safely!

BRIEFING FOR 1-3: INSPECTION DUTY

Welcome to our Customs Platform. We have need of trained pilots and you
happened to be available.

Your mission will be to inspect all freighter craft passing through
this sector. We believe that an organized band of smugglers has been
smuggling illegal cargo through this sector, and we want to catch them
redhanded. Therefore, until further notice, all freighter craft in this
sector will be subjected to close inspection by TIE-Fighters.

Your craft will be designated Eta 1. You must fly your craft close to
each ship in the area to inspect it. If smugglers are found, prepare
to receive further orders while we send Transports to board and
confiscate their craft.

BRIEFING FOR 1-4: CAPTURE SMUGGLERS

VSD Enforcer has arrived at one of the two probable locations for the
smuggler outpost. Unfortunately, it looks like we picked the wrong one.

There is no platform here, but we have identified six smuggler craft:
three Freighters and three Cargo Ferries. They are surrounded by a full
squadron of R-41 Starchasers.

We will launch two flights of TIE-Fighters. You will lead Alpha flight
in an effort to inspect all smuggler craft. If anything useful is
found, we will launch Stormtrooper Transports to disable and capture
the relevant craft. You must protect those Transports from enemy
fighters.

All the while, Beta flight will cover you. The smuggler craft need only
a few minutes to reach their hyperjump point, so you must act quickly.

BRIEFING FOR 1-5: ASSAULT ON PLATFORM STARDUST

We have arrived at the former defense Platform Stardust which has
fallen into smuggler hands. We do not have the resources available to
capture it, so our task force commander has authorized Captain Toshur
to destroy the Platform.

We will attack with TIE-Bombers. These special heavy TIE models are
armed with proton torpedoes to bring down the platform's shields
quickly. We have one full squadron of Bombers available, which will be
launched in three waves. There will also be TIE-Fighter escort
available.

The smuggler's Platform is defended by Z-95 Headhunters and R-41
Starchasers, both of which you already have fought before. Beware, some
of them may be armed with concussion missiles and are a great threat to
your TIE-Bomber!

BRIEFING FOR 1-6: SKIRMISH IN THE SILVAN CLUSTER

We have reached the Silvan Asteroid Cluster and are picking up multiple
contacts within it. Our VSD's sensors cannot penetrate the Cluster
well, so we will now launch our TIE-Fighters to investigate.

If you find the smuggler craft in the Asteroid Cluster, destroy them at
all costs. We cannot allow them to escape us now, or we may never find
them again.

Beware of enemy fighters. We have drained this smuggler organization of
its starfighter supply, but there may still be some left. Be prepared
for a heavy dogfight. VSD Enforcer cannot support you, so you will have
to rely on each other to get out of this one alive.

BRIEFING FOR 1-7: INTERCEPTION AT TELFREY

We have once more located the fleeing smugglers, this time orbiting the
planet Telfrey. Telfrey is no member of the Galactic Empire, but that
does not mean that they can harbor criminals at their leisure.
VSD Enforcer just arrived at Telfrey to destroy the three fugitive
Corellian Transports.

You will lead our Bomber attack on the Corellian Transports. Armed with
torpedoes, you should be able to defeat these powerful craft. You will
be escorted by TIE-Fighters and assisted by a second flight of Bombers.

Our arrival has caught the smugglers completely by surprise - evidently,
they thought we had given up. We are blocking their escape vector and
they must now calculate and fly to another. We should be able to
destroy them before that happens.

Prepare to receive further instructions in flight. Admiral Sela, our
task force commander, is underway aboard his own command ship and we
must be ready to receive new orders.

BRIEFING FOR 1-8: STAR DESTROYER CLASH

We have intercepted Yorro's Star Destroyer Blue Flame while it was en
route to defect to the Alliance. Admiral Sela's order to Yorro to stop
his ship was ignored, and now Yorro has launched his TIE squadrons
against us.

We had hoped to resolve this without a fight, but the choice has been
made for us now. Yorro is committing an unforgivable act of atrocity by
attacking our command ship. We must regard him as an enemy now, and we
are forced to destroy his ship.

Towards this end, we are launching our TIE-Bombers, armed with proton
torpedoes, to destroy Yorro's VSD before it can escape. Our Bomber
attack will be spearheaded by new TIE-Interceptors, which are superior
to the standard TIE-Fighter model. You have been chosen to lead the
Interceptor flight into battle. Your mission is to keep Yorro's TIEs
off our Bombers while they make their attack run on the Blue Flame.
